Howard M. Modell
Howard wears several hats when he walks through the door at IBN Financial Services, Inc.
Howard joined IBN as a General Securities Representative on January 1, 2008, working with existing investment clients and identifying new ones. In 2011, he assumed the additional duties of Due Diligence Officer. In that capacity, Howard is tasked with reviewing every Alternative Investment program to determine whether it is suitable for our clients. This includes REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts), Private Placements and other investment products geared towards so-called High Net Worth clients looking to invest beyond stocks and mutual funds.
Prior to joining IBN, Howard worked with two other local investment firms and with several insurance companies. Between 1997 and 2010, Howard managed his own company, In-Tuition College Funding Services, assisting parents and teenagers with the unique financial issues that surround college planning.
A native of New York City, Howard spent more than two decades in broadcast journalism before deciding to change careers in favor of financial planning in the mid-1990s. Howard earned a B.A. degree from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, majoring in History.
Howard and his wife Esther have lived in Central New York since 1985. They enjoy travel, thoroughbred racing, attending music festivals and doting on their three grandchildren.
